The MS Forum Moderator sent the OP to the second link I listed above. Someone is trying to deploy C++2015 Redistributable Update 3 but it's bombing due to a conflict with 6. This thread in the Microsoft support site might be related, but it's not the easiest post to read. VS-2017 is in release candidate status.ĭo you recall where you obtained the 24516 C++ redistributable from?Ĭan you indentify what game/program it is deployed to?īy any chance do you have Visual Studio 2017 preview on the same PC you're loading Civ-6 to? Another site lists 6 as 'Preview 5 for Visual Studio 2017'. From other research, it appears to be a preview version. I am not saying your 6 is bad, but it's not the latest released version from Microsoft. My Kaspersky Antivirus accepted the file loader, but I would be uncomfortable running that on my system. It downloaded a 'file loader' utility that I strongly avoid. I downloaded the 'file' from UpdateStar, but it did not download a Microsoft signed file.
My personal taste is to avoid using sites like that. I found the 6 version on a non-MS site UpdateStar. Ok, I just went to the Microsoft site, and the latest version I got from there was 5.1, which is listed as Microsoft Visual C++2015 Redistributable Update 3.
